PRESSING

Pressing refers to the creation of a non-positive connection between two individual workpieces.

Sequence:

To make the non-positive connection, the parts are moved together at the separation points until they make contact, so that there is no longer any play.

The non-positive connection deforms to a greater or lesser degree each part that transfers it.

There must be an overmeasure between the two parts. The connection is made by the pressing in, shrinkage and/or expansion of one or both joining parts.
