Quality & Digitalization

How do digital processes at G&G ensure quality and on-time delivery?

Industrial manufacturing is undergoing profound change. In energy-intensive and quality-critical processes such as zinc die casting, digitalization, transparency, and intelligent process control are becoming increasingly important. G&G Zinc Die Casting demonstrates how modern manufacturing concepts can be successfully implemented in practice.

At G&G’s Nagold site, production has been consistently digitalized and aligned with a fully connected manufacturing structure. All relevant process steps are digitally mapped and linked together with the aim of ensuring maximum transparency, stable workflows, and a high level of responsiveness.

At the core of this approach is the complete online monitoring of production processes. The machines continuously record their operating and process data, which are documented and evaluated in real time. This provides an up-to-date picture of ongoing zinc die casting production at all times. Process deviations can be identified and assessed immediately, significantly improving process stability and repeatability.

At the same time, G&G follows a clear approach to workforce deployment: production is operated by a lean, highly qualified team. Employees focus on value-adding tasks, in particular machine setup, adjustment of production parameters, and release of production orders. The subsequent series production is managed safely and efficiently through digitally supported workflows and a high degree of automation.

A key success factor is digital communication within production. Employees are directly integrated into the process landscape via tablets. Information on orders, machine status, approvals, and required interventions is available in real time. Coordination takes place without delay and directly at the point where decisions need to be made. This also allows organizational processes to be optimally scheduled and potential production bottlenecks to be avoided.

The combination of digital process monitoring, automated production, transparent communication, and clearly defined responsibilities leads to measurable results: G&G achieves a very high level of delivery reliability with an exceptionally low error rate. The high degree of process stability makes it possible to implement customer requirements reliably and reproducibly, even for demanding zinc die casting series.

This performance is also reflected in market feedback: G&G is classified as an A-supplier by all of its customers. This rating underlines the company’s high level of reliability in terms of quality, delivery performance, and process reliability.

By consistently applying digital technologies, G&G demonstrates that zinc die casting production can be not only automated, but also fully connected end to end. The company combines modern production technology with lean organizational structures in a networked and fully integrated environment, thereby creating the foundation for high quality, reliable delivery times, and efficient series production.

How is quality monitored during serial production?

At G&G Beschläge GmbH, the quality of zinc die-cast parts is continuously monitored throughout the entire series production process. The goal is to ensure consistent quality and process reliability across the entire production run.

Defined quality checks are performed at both the start and end of every casting run. In addition, we operate according to established inspection plans, with checks carried out based on specific batch sizes or defined shot counts. This ensures that the dimensional accuracy and quality of the components are regularly verified and documented.

For complex geometries, G&G Beschläge employs specially developed inspection fixtures and gauges. These allow even intricate contours and functionally critical dimensions to be checked quickly and reliably during ongoing series production. The inspection equipment is specifically tailored to each component and its unique requirements.

Another key element of our quality assurance is the digital monitoring of machine and process parameters. Relevant parameters from the die-casting machines are continuously recorded and transmitted to our central servers. This enables the monitoring of production data and the early detection of any process deviations.

For every production order, the specified machine parameters are loaded centrally from the server. This ensures that production proceeds using approved settings and that established process conditions are maintained consistently and reproducibly.

The combination of inspection plans, regular quality checks, custom inspection equipment, and digitally monitored machine parameters enables G&G Beschläge GmbH to achieve high process stability and consistent series quality. This allows even large production volumes to be manufactured reliably and reproducibly.

How are complaints handled at G&G Beschläge GmbH?

At G&G Beschläge GmbH, complaints are processed systematically in accordance with the principles of our quality management system (DIN EN ISO 9001). Our goal is not merely to rectify an individual non-conformity, but to identify the root cause effectively and prevent the error from recurring.

Depending on the nature and scope of the complaint, we analyze the affected components and production data. This process involves drawing upon sources such as inspection and process data from our quality management software. Digital documentation of production processes enables us to trace relevant information precisely and incorporate it into the root cause analysis.

We employ tools such as the 8D report to ensure a structured approach to handling complaints. This method documents the individual steps of error analysis, root cause identification, and corrective actions. It ensures that responsibilities and corrective measures are clearly defined and that the entire process remains transparent and traceable.

Additionally, we utilize Statistical Process Control (SPC) to monitor production processes based on measurement data and detect potential deviations at an early stage. The results are documented and evaluated using our quality management software.

By combining DIN EN ISO 9001 standards, 8D reporting, SPC, and digital quality management, G&G Beschläge pursues a systematic approach to complaint handling. Our objective is to eliminate the root causes of errors permanently while continuously enhancing process reliability and serial production quality.
