Does G&G manufacture prototypes and pre-production units?

Yes. G&G Beschläge offers prototypes and pre-production parts to evaluate components for geometry, functionality, assembly, and aesthetics before mass production begins.

Various options are available depending on the stage of development and specific requirements. For initial concept validation, for instance, plastic prototypes can be produced using 3D printing. Where higher standards for strength and functionality apply, milled prototype parts or components made of Zamak are also viable options.

If a component closely resembling the final production version is required, sample cavities can be used within actual die-casting molds. This allows for the production of initial parts under realistic manufacturing conditions and yields valuable insights for subsequent mass production.

This enables a step-by-step development process—progressing from simple 3D-printed prototypes, through milled parts and Zamak samples, to near-production sample parts created using an actual die-casting mold.

In this way, G&G supports customers at an early stage in the development and testing of new zinc die-cast parts. The goal is to identify potential optimizations early on and ensure the transition from the prototyping phase to mass production is as reliable and efficient as possible.

For an initial assessment, we ideally require a technical drawing and/or 3D data, accompanied by key requirements, the desired finish, and planned production volumes. The more complete the information, the faster we can evaluate technical feasibility and economic parameters.

The next step involves discussing the project together during a personal Microsoft Teams meeting. This allows us to clarify technical requirements, component geometry, application areas, quantities, surface finishes, and other details directly with our team.

Based on the agreed-upon requirements, G&G prepares a customized quote. In addition to the relevant costs, this includes a realistic delivery date or a planned timeline for tooling and production.
